Cancer was the number one killer in Hong Kong, accounting for 30.0% of all registered deaths in 2008. The top five causes of cancer deaths were lung cancer, colorectal cancer, liver cancer, stomach cancer and breast cancer. The five commonest causes of cancer death by sex in 2008 are shown in the table below.
