The number of in-patient discharges and deaths due to the malignant neoplasm of cervix uteri, commonly known as cervical cancer, were quite steady in recent years. In 2009, 2 786 in-patient discharges and deaths were related to cervical cancer, accounting for 2.0% of hospitalization due to all types of cancers.

There was a mild decrease in the number of deaths and death rate due to cervical cancer between 1981 and 2009. In 2009, 128 persons died from cervical cancer, accounting for 1% of all cancer deaths. The death rate for female was 3.5 per 100 000 female population.
