In 2016, 5,045 inpatient discharges and deaths were related to the malignant neoplasm of prostate, commonly known as prostate cancer, which accounted for 2.4% of hospitalization due to all types of cancers.

In 2016, 410 persons died from prostate cancer, accounting for 2.9% of all cancer deaths. The crude death rate for male was 12.1 per 100,000 male population.

In the years between 1979 and 2016, there was a general increasing trend in age-standardized death rate due to prostate cancer.

In 2016, the age-specific death rate due to prostate cancer increased markedly after age 65.
